I started shooting pictures when I was a child. Dad was a photographer, and I was in the darkroom with him when I was little. Through high school and college, I managed to make almost all of my income via photography; either shooting or doing the processing work. The medium is essentially "home turf" for me, but not really what I do on a day by day basis.
